Winslow Martin began his career as a professional photographer in 1981. He was senior staff photographer and then Director of Photography at Community Newspaper Company (formerly the TAB Newspapers) from 1989-2003. In that time Martin won many newspaper industry awards for his community photojournalism, including New England Press Photographer of the Year in 2000.
He has more recently dedicated himself full time to documentary style wedding photography and long term projects. In one ongoing series of photo essays Martin has documented the challenges and impact of care giving. He is currently photographing a pediatric emergency room, an extended care facility and the family of Dejan, a Bosnian child with cerebral palsy, as a part of this project.
Martin's other body of work began as a story on the life of a local Armenian priest in Watertown and has since expanded into a book project on the fledgling country of Armenia. Upcoming trips will include coverage of parliamentary elections, life in a small village near Lake Sevan and a week long wedding celebration.
Winslow Martin currently resides in Arlington, MA with his wife Corinne Schippert and son Eliot
